Anand P. Patel, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Internal Medicine / Nephrology
Indianapolis, Indiana
After graduating from an accelerated medical program at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, he completed his training in Internal Medicine and subsequently a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Louisville. He has a passion for exploring novel ways to optimize both healthcare delivery and preventive interventions by leveraging experience in hospital medicine, subspeciality medicine, the post-acute care space, hospice, and occupational health.
In addition to serving in a variety of directorship roles over the years, he founded a private post-acute care practice serviced by hospitalists and worked directly with network hospital CEOs to dramatically reduce hospital readmission rates. He continues to embrace varied interests in both clinical and administrative medicine. Currently, he is privileged to serve as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine in a hospital that is rated in the Top 5% in the nation for clinical quality by Health Grades.
One of the most gratifying aspect of his career however has been his involvement in medical education as a medical preceptor for medical students. He feels this allows him meaningfully impact future physician leaders by helping them understand how to effectively marry basic clinical medicine with a practical understanding of today’s healthcare landscape.
